I Am Loved!

Back in the fall as I was enjoying a nice cup of tea in my Africa mug, my husband brought back for me a few years ago, not really thinking about anything. Jesus gently spoke and told me I was going to Africa in the summer on a missions trip. I admit at first I said no. Then He was adamant and me going to I said Yes.  I mentioned it to my husband and he was on board with it from the get go. I called my parents a week later and they agreed to watch my kiddos while I was gone. Over the next several months I prayed and raised money towards my trip. We each had to raise $4,200 to cover all of our expenses. I was completely blown away at the donations of money and prayers started to flow in. Watching Jesus move in all of that was truly amazing. I was a bit nervous leaving as I hadn't been without my kids for long than a week and this trip was 3 weeks long. I knew Jesus wanted me to go and I had peace at leaving my family for a short period in time.    ...

Gods Plans Are Better Than Our Own

Have you ever sat down and planned out how your life would go? I think at some point we all did that when we were kids. We planned out what our spouse would look like, how many kids we would have, how big or little our house would be. Whether or not we would have a white picket fence or not.  Maybe you didn't go that far or in that direction. Maybe you dreamed of what your job would look like, how successful you would be? As we grew up and went to school we can pick somethings that would happen, right? What you wanted to do for your career, where you wanted to live, whether or not you really wanted to get married or even have children.      God gives us free will to choose what ever path in life we want. What if we chose to follow Him 100%? Be all in for God? What would that look like? Would you be where you are? Obviously you can't take back the children you had, but no matter where you are in life you can choose that. You can choose to follow G...

When The Light Took Over The Darkness

Where I am now in my life is not what I saw 3 1/2 years ago. It was a Sunday afternoon, the husband and I were fighting again about the fact that he didn't care about me. So I got up, got in my truck, and left. I was determined to be gone for the rest of my life. I didn't want to go back, I didn't want to stay where I wasn't cared about even despite the 2 children in my home that cared about me. I was so angry, hurt, felt worthless, felt like no one cared. I was alone and I was done. I wanted to start over by myself or find someone who did care about me. I was going to fill a void with someone else. I ended up calling my mom and we talked for a long time. She said "Do you still love him?".  No of course not, I hated him, but deep down inside I still loved him, despite how I'd been treated over the last 10 years. This had been going on for over 10 years and I was emotionally and mentally drained. I wanted out. She urged me to go home and just talk to h...

Change Always Happens In The New Year

Image
Generally speaking I love the new year. It is a time to reflect on the person I was, things I did, the way I acted, and so on. I look forward to changing things that I see would be an improvement. I know that I can actually change anytime, but the new year seems to be a run start, right? I mean it's a good time to write down the wishes (thanks to my pastor with that word), we would like to see change, but know that without some perseverance, persistence, patience, and a whole lot of Jesus, things might now get done.      This start of the year was a whole lot of up and down. We lost one of our furry family members just shy of her 3rd birthday. She was my daughters birthday present, but ended up being my sons best friend! They played all the time, got into trouble together, stole snacks together, took naps, anything you can think of that was them. Dig holes, chase sticks, sometimes ever chew on sticks. Losing a pet out of the blue was hard. The kids di...

Rubber Bands Are Meant To Stretch, Not Break!

It has officially been 2 weeks since we welcome 2 little emergency placements into our home. A lot has transpired in those two weeks. No matter how much you prepare for placements, you aren't really ready until it happens and even then all you are doing is trying to stay above water.       A really good friend of mine gave me some great advice that seems to work with all areas of my life. It was a few years ago and I was about to stop nannying and take on a full time job all while homeschooling. She said "It takes about 2 weeks after starting something new, like a new job, in order for it to be come a routine. After that, it slows down and becomes less hectic". Ok maybe those weren't her words 100% but that's what you all get!      So, it's been just over two week and things are running way better than they did. I wouldn't say that life is less hectic, because frankly working part-time, stay-at-home mom to 4 kiddos under 9 1/2, ho...

Friendships Are Like Clothes In A Closet!

Yes I know I haven't written in a while, I will address that at some point or not. Nutshell, first foster was tough and we took the summer to just regroup and focus on what was important to be able to proceed on. Great news, we have since switched agencies and happy to report we had a great 2nd respite foster babe!  Now on to what my mind is racing about today..      Today, as I reflect on my life and the most current events in my life, I was hit with the epiphany that friendships are a lot like the clothes in our closets. Please bare with me as I try to explain! haha These days we are bombarded with social media which includes but not limited to FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, and SnapChat (ok, really those are the only I knowledge about). There are also some other apps like You Version Bible app, First 5, and I am sure there are more.  There is something that all of these have in common and it's the friends base in which you can add or remov...

School's Out For Summer!!

Hey guys! Ok so we are in our 2nd full week of summertime fun while school is out and I'm about to lose my hair! Anyone else with me? Oh, so maybe it's just me.  For real, last week we were off to a great start, kids slept in a bit (I work from home part-time), husband still got up and did breakfast, and all the morning whatnot. Kids played on their tablets and with toys pretty well. Tuesday seemed to be about the same as Monday, but Wednesday all the wheels fell off. Fighting started off before I even felt alive enough to deal with it. Coffee wasn't strong enough, my eyes didn't want to open, and my patience was nowhere to be found.      Thankfully the weekend came, but went just as fast! We did hit up the pool on Father's day for a bit before grabbing some Pelicans snowballs! My husband is a great man who works hard; at work,  workouts with F3 , and especially at being a husband and father! He sacrifices a ton for us and when we asked...
